The blood of my daughter will haunt the one who has killed her, mother to Ruth Mbandu, a 20 year old woman who was murdered on Friday evening in Lusaka’s Emmasdale area has threatened.
The killing of Ruth in what is suspected to be a ritual killing has left residents stunned. Ruth was found dead Saturday morning with her facial skin and eyes removed. The body was found dumped on a street popularly known as devil’s street.
The mother has however pleaded with the people behind the murder to surrender failure to which she says her daughter’s blood follow them.
Ruth was a second year law student at National Institute of Public Administration (NIPA) in Lusaka, the Zambia capital. She met her fate on Friday evening when she was coming from visiting her uncle in Lusaka’s Kabanana residential area.
According to her mother she last communicated with her between 18 and 18:30 hours and she told her that she was on her way back. She was staying at House number 33/09 in Emmasdale. Her naked body was discovered around 06 hours at house number 33/11 in Emmasdale and was lying face up.
“We suspect that she was murdered at a different place and later damped where the body was found as there were no signs of struggle and the amount of blood found at the scene was very little,” the police stated. “A pair of slippers and pant was found at the scene.”
Police has also revealed that a post mortem has been conducted to help with the investigations and the body of the deceased is lying in UTH mortuary.
